(KUTV) -- A natural avalanche fell in Little Cottonwood Canyon on Monday at approximately 1:30 p.m.
This forced the closure of State Route 210, according to Alta Central on Twitter.
People who are in the canyon are being asked to return to Snowbird or Alta parking lots. There they will receive further instruction, Snowbird reported.
The canyon has been closed all day because of the winter storm.
The snow has created dangerous and hazardous road conditions.
The Unified Police Department canyon patrol officers warned drivers to avoid traveling in the canyons.
