(KUTV) — The family of Major Brent Taylor received a Christmas surprise when the family home was decorated with Christmas lights.

“We received some calls if we’d be interested in helping, and we said absolutely we would,” Craig Mitton the owner of Ben Lomond Landscape Maintenance & Christmas Décor.

He was part of the crew of four that went to work Wednesday morning.

“I am glad that we were chosen to help with this home, particularly,” he said.

Mitton said they decorate about 150 homes each year but being a member of this community, decorating this home means a lot.

“This one has a lot of special meaning with Brent being the mayor and his family. Very loved individual in the community,” he said.

The Taylor family was chosen after being nominated for the national “Decorated Family Program.”

“Kids love Christmas lights,” Mitton said. “If we can do anything to bring some light and some joy for their holiday season especially Christmas we are very glad to do that."
