UPDATED: Identity released of man accused of beating girlfriend, chased by WVC police
UPDATE 3/17/18 4:58 p.m. - West Valley Police have identified the suspect as 23-year-old Niko Martinez.
West Valley Police tell 2News the drivers of the two vehicles hit by Martinez did not suffer injuries.
Martinez suffered a leg injury and was taken to the hospital for evaluation.
He has been charged with multiple felonies and misdemeanors including aggravated assault, domestic violence in the presence of a child and various drug dealing and traffic charges.
(KUTV) - One man is in custody after leading police in West Valley on a short chase Friday night.
Police got a call that a man was "beating and strangling" his girlfriend at home in the area of 3100 South, 2700 West.
Police say the suspect's own brother Tased him to get him off of the woman he was attacking.
West Valley Police say the suspect heard cops were called and took off.
Police were able to find him and chase him to 3500 South and 2700 West where the suspect crashed.
One officer received minor injuries.
The suspect was arrested. No word if the suspect was injured. Police have not yet released his name.
