Man charged with murder after double homicide in West Valley neighborhood

(KUTV) - Kennedy Lund, 23, has been charged with two counts of aggravated murder after shooting two people in West Valley on June 26.

The victims were identified as Chasidy Gerber, 37, and Martin Barron, 33.

Autopsy reports confirmed that the couple died from gunshot wounds. Gerber had multiple gunshots wounds in her chest and Barron had a single gunshot would in the chest.

On Tuesday June 26, Lund approached the pair, who were with their children at the time, not clothed and carrying a gun. Barron quickly took his children inside of the trailer they were living in.

Witnesses said there was no exchange between Lund and the pair. Lund opened fire, killing Gerber and Barron, according to West Valley City Police.

After shooting the vicitms, Lund ran across the street to his fathers house. He stated to his father, that he "may have killed someone," according to Lund's probable cause statement.

Police say the suspect used his personal gun, an AR-15 rifle.
