MOAB, Utah (KUTV) — A man has died after collapsing to the ground while hiking in Arches National Park.
Deputies of the Grand County Sheriff's Office reported that a 71 year old man was hiking through southern Utah's Arches National Park Friday with his wife and son.
At some point along the trail, deputies reported that the man was "witnessed collapsing to the ground and becoming unresponsive."
Emergency personnel was called onto the scene and CPR was performed on the man, who was pronounced dead soon after.

Several emergency agencies responded to this incident, including Classic Air Medical, National Park Service, Bureau of Land Management and Grand County Sheriff's Office.
The Utah Office of the Medical Examiner will analyze the man's body due to the sudden, unexpected and unknown manner of his death.
Deputies reported that this incident will remain under investigation by the Grand County Sheriff's Office as well as the National Park Service.
The man's identity was not released.
