SANDY, Utah (KUTV) -- A 14-year-old was critically injured Tuesday after falling from the Ferris wheel inside SCHEELS in Sandy.
Police and emergency medical personnel were called to the scene at about 3 p.m., said Sgt. Jason Nielsen with Sandy police.
The teen was transported to the hospital. Nielsen was not immediately able to provide information about injuries, but said the teen was conscious and breathing when he was transported.
Nielsen could not say what exact distance the teen fell, but said it was "pretty high."
Police were told the teen is Autistic. Nielsen said the teen was on the Ferris wheel with his father when he fell. Police did not believe anything suspicious led to the fall.
