(KUTV) — A mountain biker was found dead off of a trail in Spanish Fork on Thursday, police confirmed.
The man, aged 52, was riding downhill on the Hidden Oaks trail when it appears he failed to navigate a turn and rode off the trail, said Lt. Brandon Anderson with the Spanish Fork Police Department
UPDATE: (July 31, 1:52 p.m.) -- The biker has been identified as 52-year-old David Acosta of Spanish Fork, according to the police department.
He was found deceased among trees and brush in a steep and rugged area off the trail by first responders, Anderson said. He was wearing a helmet, but died from trauma resulting from the crash.
The man has not been identified pending the notification of his family members.
