The body of a 66-year-old man was recovered from the wreckage of a Tabiona home that caught fire in the early morning hours of Thursday, the Duchesne County Sheriff's Office said in a press release.

Police identified the deceased man as Rickey Evin Willberg.

Firefighters were called to the scene after a driver on State Route 35 spotted smoke and flames coming from Willberg's home in the area of 3700 North 38200 West just before 8 a.m.

A Duchesne County deputy was the first to arrive at the home, and tried to enter the home through a back door to find Willberg. The sheriff's office said thick smoke prevented him from entering.

Firefighters from Tabiona, Duchesne and Fruitland were called to aid in extinguishing the flames. The cause of the fire is still undetermined, and is under investigation.

Willberg's remains were transported to the medical examiner's office.
