(KUTV) — An unruly passenger heading for Salt Lake City was removed from a Delta Airlines flight Tuesday before the plane took off.

In sound from the flight someone from the airline can be heard telling the man that once he leaves the plane he cannot bring him back on. There was also a sound that was reportedly a flight attendant being knocked to the ground.

Reportedly the passenger was smoking a vape pen on the jet way and once seated, he was confronted by a flight attendant.

The man reportedly got up with his bags to leave and other passengers said he tried to come back onto the plane. Staff tried to stop him when he reportedly pushed an attendant down.

Delta officials confirmed a passenger was removed from the the flight before it departed from Sacramento.

In a statement Delta said:

Delta's values call for civility from our people and our customers as we work to bring people together through our global airline.
