SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — A 35-year-old man was held above water with his leg stuck in a boat propeller as rescue teams attempted to untangle him on Sunday afternoon at Utah Lake.
The man was kneeboarding before getting "entangled," Capt. Sam Armstrong with Provo Fire Department said. His leg was stuck to the point where he could not get it out on his own. The boat and the stuck man remained still until Utah County Search and Rescue arrived to get him unstuck.
The man was transported to the hospital via ambulance. He was conscious, breathing, and alert the whole time. He had severe lacerations to his leg, but they were able to wind the propeller back enough for him to get his leg out.
This is a developing story.
