Ogden, Provo, Salt Lake City rank among cities with youngest homeowners

(KUTV) -- Utah is home to the top three cities with the youngest homeowners in the country, stated a report from LendingTree.

According to a November report from the online loan marketplace, Ogden, Provo and Salt Lake City have the youngest homeowners in the United States. Out of the top 10 metropolitan areas with the lowest average age for homeowners, Utah held the top three spots, with Ogden and Provo having an average homeowner age below 50.

On the other side of the spectrum, Florida had the oldest average homeowner age, with seven out of the 10 metropolitan areas having homeowners in their late 50s to early 60s.

The following are the top 10 metropolitan areas with the lowest average homeowner age:

  1. Provo, UT
  2. Ogden, UT
  3. Salt Lake City, UT
  4. Des Moines, IA
  5. Austin, TX
  6. Raleigh, NC
  7. Omaha, NE
  8. Minneapolis, MN
  9. McAllen, TX
  10. Houston, TX

The following are the top 10 metropolitan areas with the highest average homeowner age:

  1. North Port, FL
  2. Cape Coral, FL
  3. Deltona, FL
  4. Palm Bay, FL
  5. Lakeland, FL
  6. Honolulu, HI
  7. Tampa, FL
  8. Miami, FL
  9. Tucson, AZ
  10. Scranton, PA
