Herriman high school student killed after rear-ending school bus on Bangerter Highway

UPDATE: Police identified the victim in the fatal accident as 17-year-old, Bryson Hathway, a senior at Herriman high school.

Friends and family have set up a Gofundme account to help cover funeral costs.

Bryson was a senior at Herriman High. He loved sports and was a starting athlete in baseball and football. He always took his education to heart and mind by being an honor roll student. Bryson and the Hathaway family are beloved by their community. These donations will go directly to the family funeral expenses and other costs.

(KUTV)- One person is dead after a fatal crash near 12600 South and Bangerter Wednesday afternoon.

According to Unified Police, a school bus was heading southbound on Bangerter and was stopped at a stop light at 12600 South when a small car crashed into the back of the bus.

Police have released that the driver of the car did not survive. On the bus was a 9th-grade girl and the bus driver, both are in good condition.

Expect the two outside lanes on Southbound Bangerter to be closed until 6 p.m. police said.
