(KUTV) — A West Jordan man is hoping to get back a pretty pricey camera, swiped from his truck on Friday, right outside the church on 7600 South and 3200 West.

The camera and the lens that were taken are worth about $2,000. However, the photos on it are irreplaceable to Ryan Dearing.

He lost his grandmother back in July, just days after her 90th birthday. The family has been having reunions in August since 1965 and after losing grandma, they’ve decided this past one, will be the last. All of those photos are on the camera.

But, here’s the twist: When the thief stole the camera, he left behind his phone—a phone that was unlocked.

Dearing has been able to figure out the suspect’s name and said he reached out to him on Facebook, but got no response. Dearing said the suspected thief's Facebook page was promptly shut down.

Police confirmed the man they are looking for is Michael Minutella. Anyone with information about where he—or the camera—might be, is asked to contact West Jordan police at 801-840-4000.
