(KUTV) — The San Juan County Sheriff's Office is searching for a missing woman believed to be endangered.

The woman "took off" in an unknown direction from a home in Bluff on Mulberry Street between 12 and 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, police said in a Facebook post.

Police did not provide the woman's name, but said she is five feet 11 inches tall and has dark, curly hair. She may be wearing blue jeans and a black jacket.

The sheriff's office was concerned for the woman's safety because she was from Las Vegas and it was thought she may have tried to hitch hike there. Police also indicated they had reason to be concerned about her mental health at the time she went missing.

Those who see the woman or think they may have seen her earlier were asked to contact the San Juan County Sheriff's Office.
