Police pursuit of motorcyclist terminated, suspect later arrested at his home

(KUTV) -- West Jordan Police chased a suspect on a stolen motorcycle after he committed a traffic violation Saturday night but terminated the pursuit upon recognizing the motorcyclist.

The fleeing suspect from the pursuit, which started at 1300 West and 7400 South, was found at his home later that evening and arrested.

Brandon Briggs, 38, was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on charges of:

  • Receiving or transfer of stolen vehicle,
  • Failure to stop or respond at the command of police,
  • Violation or parole or probation.

Briggs is known by police and was sentenced four months ago to probation for 24 months after serving jail time for burglary of a vehicle and possession or use of a controlled substance.
