SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Note: The Salt Lake City Police Department will be providing an update Tuesday
Police said multiple people were shot at an apartment complex in Salt Lake City.
According to the Salt Lake City Police Department, officers responded to the Seasons at Pebble Creek Apartments near 1700 South and Redwood Road just after 7 p.m. Monday after receiving multiple 911 calls about the shooting.
As officers were responding, more 911 calls came in about the individual victims, according to a statement released late Monday.
Upon arriving, police discovered a man in an apartment unit who had been shot. They attempted life-saving measures, but the man died at the scene.
Three others were injured, two of whom were shot. One of the shooting victims was transported in serious condition, and the other was transported in critical condition, police said.
A third person sustained non-life-threatening injuries, police said, and it's believed the individual was physically assaulted inside the apartment.
According to preliminary investigation, police said the incident occurred inside the apartment and may be related to a home invasion.
At 9:32 p.m. officials released based on new information, it is not likely a home invasion. When the shooting occurred, there were several people inside the apartment unit who most likely knew one another.
At least two of the victims arrived to the hospital in a privately owned vehicle. According to police, one person was injured but not shot.
Police said no arrests had been made.
A SLCPD spokesperson confirmed there were two other crime scenes involved in the incident but information was not immediately available what that entailed.
Police said they haven't found any victims of stray bullets in nearby apartment units. Social workers had also responded out to help those who witnessed the incident.
According to officials, there is no threat to the public and all scenes were secured.
