UPDATE (3:00 p.m.) -- The lockdown has been lifted by the Provo Police Department. Police said two students had a conflict and discovered an Airsoft gun.

Police in Provo investigate reports of a "possible weapons offense" at Provo High School.

Police said calls came in around 12:37 p.m. from the school after a student notified a teacher that a gun was seen during an argument between two males.

The school was immediately put on lockdown. Senior Sierra Walker was in the school’s culinary arts room.

“At first, our teacher was like, ‘This is really an odd time to do a drill. I wonder why they didn’t say anything?’ Walker said. “Then they came on again and said, ‘This is real. Please lock your doors, shut the blinds.’”

She said most students remained calm. For neighbor Brian Voeks, a day of working at home suddenly turned eventful.

“You know, I’ve never seen a day like this,“ he said, “police cars everywhere, ambulance coming down, the fire truck, lots of sirens earlier."

Police said they found the two students involved in the “altercation.” Police said nobody was injured in the incident but Provo High School remains an active investigation scene.
