(KUTV) -- As Utah County and state officials continue to count votes, the gap between Rep. Mia Love and Salt Lake County Mayor Ben McAdams grows thinner.

As of Friday morning, Love had 12,811 votes in Utah County and McAdams had 4,505 votes, the Utah County Clerk's Office reported.

At the state level, about 5,800 votes are separating the two opponents, 2News calculated.

McAdams and Love have been neck-and-neck throughout the race. However, McAdams has been ahead of Love since officials started counting votes on Tuesday night.

During a press conference Wednesday, President Donald Trump announced that Love had lost to McAdams, citing her lack of 'love' for him as the reason she lost.

Officials have yet to call a winner in the tight race.
