(KUTV) — Fire crews extinguished a small fire along northbound Interstate 15 in Salt Lake County Monday, prompting siginifcant traffic delays.

The fire started around 12:30 p.m. in the grass next to the highway on I-15 near 700 North in Salt Lake City.

UDOT cameras showed several fire trucks and Utah Highway Patrol troopers on scene.

Troopers temporarily closed the northbound on-ramp from 600 North while crews battled the fire.

There were no injuries, and minimal damage to fiber cables that belong to a nearby business, according to the Salt Lake Fire Captain.
