Seven hospitalized in West Valley crash with suspected intoxicated driver
(KUTV) - A Sunday morning crash in West Valley City sent several people to the hospital, including a driver police believe was intoxicated.
West Valley Police Lt. Amy Maurer said the female driver attempted to make a right-hand turn onto southbound 5600 West from 4370 South at around 1:30 a.m. The car collided with another car travelling southbound on 5600 West. Each car had two adults and two juveniles inside.
Police say seven of the eight people involved were transported to the hospital with injuries. One adult suffered a skull fracture and is in critical condition. Another adult suffered a broken leg. The driver believed to be intoxicated at the time of the crash also was injured and is in the hospital.
Maurer said police may arrest the woman on suspicion of a felony offense of driving under the influence once she is released from medical care.
