(KUTV) One person is confirmed dead following a house fire at 2300 S 300 E in South Salt Lake.
Saturday, around 9:40 a.m., South Salt Lake Fire Department responded to reports of a fire in the area of 2300 S 300 E in South Salt Lake City.
Deputy Fire Chief Terry Addison reports that upon arrival crews were informed that a man 57-year-old man was trapped inside the building.
Crews tried to reach the man, who was located in the room where the fire originated, but he was dead by the time the they found him.
The man did live at the home, but his identity has not been released at this time.
Authorities are on the scene investigating the cause of the fire.
The Red Cross is on scene assisting the survivors who also lived in the home.
