Missing South Salt Lake autistic boy found

(KUTV) -- South Salt Lake Police found the missing autistic boy who went missing Thursday night.

Gary Keller with South Salt Lake Police told 2News that 12-year-old Jesse Gilbert returned to his Youth Services group home safe and well.

Gilbert was last seen Thursday at approximately 11 p.m. in the vicinity of 3300 South and West Temple. According to Gilbert's step-mother Jody Lawrence, he is a high-functioning autistic boy who left his Youth Services group home on Price Avenue with three other residents that night. Lawrence said Gilbert has been off his medication for more than 24 hours.

Keller confirmed to 2News the details about Gilbert's disappearance and said one of the residents returned to Youth Services.

Gilbert is 5-foot 1-inch tall and 64 lbs with sandy blonde hair and blue eyes. He was wearing a Utah Jazz hoodie, jeans and black sneakers.
