Neighbors say Utah mother killed in Las Vegas shooting was willing to help anyone
(KUTV) Heather Warino Alvarado, 35, wife of Cedar City firefighter Albert Alvarado, and the mother of three children, succumbed to injures Monday night as a result of the horrific mass shooting in Las Vegas Sunday evening.
Heather Alvarado is the third person killed in Vegas with Utah ties and neighbors in her Enoch, Utah, community who knew her describe her as a genuine, kind and protective mother who was willing to help anyone.
Elisha Jones knew Alvarado for years. They lived across the street from each other and she always caught herself looking out her kitchen window watching Heather Alvarado, Albert Alvarado and their kids playing in the front yard.
“She loved her kids, she loved to have fun which is why she was at the concert, she loved Vegas. She was just a good person,” Jones said. “It's just shocking that someone so close by went through such a horrendous act.”
Another one of Alvarado’s neighbors, Tara Maxwell, didn’t know the her too well but but has a memory that sticks out in her mind.
"She actually helped me out when my dog got out,” Maxwell said “She just jumped in without even knowing the situation. I think that speaks volumes to her character just how she was.”
Now, her husband Albert Alvarado and their three children remain in Enoch, Utah. The community is rallying to help the mourning family.
“There's many of us that want to bring meals in or whatever we can do to help with the children,” Jones said “We're just here, he will need help so I hope he will except it.”
