(KUTV)- A Utah teenager is sitting in juvenile detention being investigated by St. George Police, Hurricane Police, and the FBI for allegedly attempting to bomb Pine View High School in St. George and vandalizing a Hurricane High School with ISIS propaganda.

According to the Washington County School District this student is very into his education. He is a member of the Pine View Jr. ROTC and also part of an academy that allows him to work towards earning college credit.

Steven Dunham, spokesman for the Washington County School District tells 2News that the DSU Success Academy is meant for very intelligent students.

"They pull students from our schools and provide them with the opportunity to not only earn their degree but an associate’s degree at the same time," Dunham said.

The academy is located on Dixie State Universities campus and the student, whose name has not yet been released, is in his first year with the program and splits his week between Jr. ROTC and the academy.

"The success academy is essentially a charter school," Dunham said.
