PAYSON, Utah (KUTV) The 18-year-old suspect in a Payson girl’s hanging death now faces several charges of sexual exploitation of a minor after detectives reported finding child pornography on his cell phone.

Officers obtained a warrant to search the cell phone that belonged to Tyerell Przbycien as part of their investigation of the death of a 16-year-old girl who was found hanging from a tree in Payson Canyon earlier this month.

Przybycien was arrested for allegedly purchasing supplies and helping the girl hang herself while he recorded her death on his phone.

In addition to the recording of the death, prosecutors now allege Przybycien had pictures of nude girls that appeared to be under the age of five on his phone.

Detectives said they interviewed a teen acquaintance of the suspect who told them Przybycien admitted to viewing child porn.

“[Przybycien] admitted he was responsible for [the pictures] and was struggling with child pornography,’ a detective wrote in a probable cause statement.

Utah County prosecutor Christine Scott said the murder charge will be handled separately from the new sexual exploitation charges, but they may be under consideration for a plea agreement if it reaches that point.

The phone is still being examined, and investigators said there may be more charges if evidence of additional crimes is discovered.

Pryzbycien remains in the Utah County Jail. He is scheduled to appear in court for all of his charges later this month.
