BOUNTIFUL, Utah (KUTV) — Investigators allege a man lured a woman using Tinder to a forest near Bountiful then attacked her with a knife.
An arrest report released Friday morning said Kane Thomas Fairbank, 18, was booked on two charges of attempted murder, aggravated kidnapping, and obstruction of justice.
According to the report, Fairbank met the victim on the dating app Tinder and coerced her into his vehicle near Mueller Park.
“[Fairbank] began attacking her with a knife stabbing her multiple times; she sustained significant injuries to her hands, neck, and face at this time,” a detective wrote in the arrest report.

The victim fought back and was able to get out of the car and run for help, according to police. Fairbank stabbed the woman in the back as she fled, the report states.
The victim approached several people in the park and Fairbank fled the area in a vehicle.
Shortly after the first attack, Fairbank was accused of stabbing another woman multiple times, the report states.
Police arrested Fairbank and questioned him about the stabbings.
“[Fairbank] admitted to planning victim 1’s murder. He further stated he had been planning since he started interacting with her on Tinder. [Fairbank] states he invited victim 1 to the park ‘with the intent of luring her into his car and killing her’,” the report states.
Thomas also admitted to approaching the second victim with the intent to kill her, according to police. Officials said the second victim is an elderly woman and Fairbank targeted her because she was “elderly and alone.”
Both victims were stabbed multiple times and taken to the hospital. The first woman sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital in critical condition. The second victim also sustained life-threatening injuries and is being treated at the hospital, according to police. Their condition was not known Friday morning, according to police.
Investigators said Fairbank also admitted he planned to continue to kill other people and had a “desire to kill people who he thought were vulnerable,” the report states.
Officials said as Fairbank when moved from the park to the second location, he disposed of the first victim's phone and broke his own phone to dispose of evidence.
According to court documents, Fairbank admitted to police that he planned "to kill other people after he was done with Victim 1."
Officials said he spoke "in length about planning to kill his parents and siblings with a pick ax," and planned to live out of his car during his crime spree, luring additional victims through social media apps.
Fairbank is being held in the Davis County Jail without bail.
