Tanker crash, fire closes Highway 40 in both directions

(KUTV) A tanker truck rolled and caught fire, blocking both directions of U.S. Route 40, that overlaps with U.S. Route 191 in in Duchesne County.

Lt. Todd Royce with the Utah Highway Patrol said the tanker was carrying a mixture of water and oil that is a by-product of drilling and said there is no word on when it may open.

It is not known yet if there were any injuries in the crash that happened near mile marker 121 in the area of Fort Duchesne.

Traffic is being diverted around the truck fire. Travelers are urged to avoid the area.
