Teenage girl hospitalized following shooting in Kearns

(KUTV) A teenage girl was hospitalized Saturday following a shooting in Kearns.

According to Lt. Lex Bell of Unified Police Department, around 3:16 a.m. a dozen shots were fired into a home near 5492 Highwood Dr. in Kearns.

A 13-year-old girl was hospitalized for a hand injury, but will survive.

Over a dozen people were at the home at the time and three 13-year-old girls were having a slumber party.

There are no witnesses to the shooting and no suspects.

Police have not released the identity of the 13-year-old that was injured.
