(KUTV) Utah has been touted as a great place to get a higher education – but what about a hotter education?

The 2016 list of hottest professors is out from RateMyProfessors.com and four out of the top 10 professors teach at universities in Utah or southern Idaho.

Coming in at No. 1 is finance professor Jim Brau teaching for Brigham Young University; No. 2 is family life professor Edward Jeffrey Hill, also of BYU.

Trailing behind, but not by much, are Travis Seegmiller at Dixie State University (No. 7) and math instructor Serena Roundy at Brigham Young University-Idaho at No. 8.

Brau says he had a good laugh when one of his daughters (who goes to BYU) shared a screen grab of the website.

“I’m a 47-year-old, broken-down army ranger,” Brau told 2News on Friday. “It’s not like I’m some hot actor."

The running joke between him and second hottest professor, BYU's Edward Jeffrey Hill (a grandfather with more than 20 grandchildren), is how hot finance calculating skills must be.

"Well, obviously what they really value in hotness is your financial calculator skills," Brau said. "Because that’s the one thing we both have in common."

Some of the faculty have even gone to the length of putting a Big Hunk candy bar and a box of Hot Tamales on his door to have fun with his hotness rating.

Besides the hot factor, Brau said the website is actually really helpful for students to find out who they click with.

“I tell my students you'd be crazy not to use Rate My Professor if you are trying to choose between multiple professors for the same class.”

Here's the complete top 10 list:

  1. Jim Brau – Brigham Young University
  2. Edward Jeffrey Hill - Brigham Young University
