(UPDATE 9 p.m. Monday) — The Utah Highway Patrol released new numbers Monday night indicating its troopers had investigated 234 crashed so far that day.
SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Utah Highway Patrol Troopers have investigated 189 crashes statewide Monday, as of 3 p.m.
This does not include minor fender-benders or slide-offs.
"Temps are dropping as the storm passes," UHP said in a tweet. "Keep your speeds slow in order to be ready for when you encounter icy patches of road surface."
Governor Gary Herbert tweeted out his thanks to those keeping Utah's roadways safe saying; "Thank you to the men and women of @UDOTTRAFFIC, @UDOTavy, @UTHighwayPatrol and @UtahDPS for working to keep our roadways clear under extreme conditions."
