(KUTV) — A Utah teen made a triumphant return to the football field after months of recovery following a head-on crash involving a drunk driver.
Sarah Frei was on her way home from Bear Lake in July when a drunk driver hit the car she was in.
She spent two and a half weeks in the ICU and went through 20 surgeries, including a double leg amputation.
After spending time in several hospitals, and undergoing dozens of surgeries, Frei finally came home on Tuesday.
On Wednesday night, Frei was able to surprise her fellow cheerleaders by joining them for the half-time show at the Clearfield High School football team.
Frei says the community support has been incredible.
"Just seeing all the crowd... my friends on the front row... and performing like old times," Frei said.
