Utah Sen. Mike Lee on track to win second term, new poll shows

Utah Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah)

(KUTV) Utah's freshman senator should have no trouble winning a second term, according to a new poll.

The poll from UtahPolicy.com shows Republican Sen. Mike Lee has a 35 point lead over Democrat Misty Snow.

Lee has 57 percent support in the survey, which was conducted among likely Utah voters. Snow sits at 22 percent.

Twelve percent of those polled were undecided. Independent candidate Bill Barron and Independent American Party candidate Stoney Fonua both polled in the single digits.

The margin of error is plus or minus 3.34 percent.

Snow attracted national attention by winning the Democratic nomination in June. In doing so, she became the first transgender nominee for U.S. Senate from a major political party.

Lee was first elected to the U.S. Senate in 2010, replacing Bob Bennett who was defeated at that year's Republican state convention.
