(KUTV) -- Soon, all Utahns will need to get a new driver's license.
During the legislative special session on Monday, lawmakers voted to pass a bill that will comply with the Real ID Act of 2005 enforced by the Department of Homeland Security.
That means all Utahns will be issued a new license with a gold star printed on it.
Any license without the star will be considered invalid after the October 2020.
Rep. Wayne A. Harper and Rep. Eric K. Hutchings sponsored the bill.
