(KUTV) — You may have noticed, gas prices have jumped in Utah.
Currently, the average gas price is $3.154, according to AAA. The national average is $2.882.
Utah’s average is up from yesterday: $3.152.
Last week, a regular tank of gas cost about $2.979 and a month ago it was $2.384, according to AAA.
The company expects the national average to continue to rise due to a combination of “rising crude prices, tightening gas supplies and increased gas demand.”
Gas prices often increase as demand increases, according to the Energy Information Administration. So, as the world recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic, prices may rise.
