ARLINGTON, Va. (WJLA) — Officials in Virginia were set "to announce a new partnership with the Commonwealth of Virginia and Virginia Tech" Monday with Boeing.
Republican Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin, Sens. Tim Kaine, D-Va., Mark Warner, D-Va., as well as Rep. Don Beyer, D-Va., joined Boeing president and CEO Dave Calhoun and other state lawmakers to make a new veteran-related partnership announcement involving Virginia Tech.
This comes after the company’s recent headquarters move from Chicago to Arlington, Virginia. The company already has its eastern headquarters in Crystal City, a neighborhood of Arlington, Virginia.
Last year, the airplane giant announced it would be part of Virginia Tech's "innovation campus" in Alexandria. It's a $50 million multi-year commitment. Its goal is to create the "most diverse graduate technology program" in the country.
