(KUTV) — A 50-year-old Florida man was arrested on March 7 after allegedly trying to murder sex offenders, ABC 13 reports.

The suspect, identified as Jorge Porto-Sierra, attempted to set multiple people on fire at a motel, according to investigators. He faces four charges of attempted premeditated murder.

Porto-Sierra told deputies that he arrived at the motel to "barbecue all the child molesters on fire and kill them."

According to a WESH 2 report, two of the four victims are convicted sexual offenders.

ABC 13 reports that witnesses told authorities Porto-Sierra made multiple threats, shouting "I'm going to kill you, child molester," before dumping gasoline on their front door.

Deputies asked Porto-Sierra why he did not carry out his threats. The man simply replied, "You got here too soon."

Porto-Sierra is currently in jail, ABC 13 reports. He is being held on no bond.
