VIDEO: Teen quits Walmart job over intercom: 'Nobody should work here, ever'
Talk about quitting in a memorable way.
A Canadian teen quit his Walmart job over the intercom, telling an entire store full of customers: "Attention all shoppers, associates, and management, I would like to say to all of you today that nobody should work here — ever."
17-year-old Jackson Racicot posted a video of the incident on Facebook, where it has gone viral, with more than 479,000 views at the time of this story's publication.
In the video's caption, Racicot says: "How I quit my job today. Like, must watch. I also ran out a fire door. Y’all should share this around lol."
You can watch it below (WARNING: Video contains adult language):
Racicot worked at a Walmart store in Grande Prairie, Alberta.
"Our managers will make promises and never keep them," Racicot is heard saying in the video.
Racicot said he had been working for Walmart for a year and a half.
He blamed management for poor treatment and broken promises.
"[Management] will preach to us about how they care about their employees but about a month ago, my boss, assistant manager Cora called me a 'waste of time,' and management did nothing."
“I’ve been a loyal employee here for over a year and a half, and I’m sick of all the bulls----, bogus write-ups, and my job,” he said.
Walmart released a statement:
“We are aware of the video circulating online and are disappointed by this incident. Respect for all individuals including our associates and customers is a core value at Walmart. We are looking into this matter and will address it internally as required.”
