(KUTV) - Three people are dead and four others injured after a tour helicopter went down near the Grand Canyon Saturday night, according to Phoenix NBC station KPNX.

At least seven people were on board the Papillion tour chopper before it crashed under unknown circumstances.

Three are dead, the four others were being treated at the scene.

The wreck happened about 60 miles northwest of Peach Springs, Arizona.

No word yet from authorities on what caused the crash.

Allen Kenitzer with the Federal Aviation Administration Office of Communications said Eurocopter EC130 crashed under unknown circumstances in the Grand Canyon, according to KPNX.

Hualapai Police Chief Francis Bradley said the helicopter was from Las Vegas, Nevada.

The FAA is investigating.
