A couple who moved away from Oregon may soon be reunited with their missing cat a year-and-a-half after he disappeared.

Betty and John Moore moved from Tillamook to Louisiana without their feline friend “Buddy."

He had disappeared before the move, and despite several trips back to Oregon to search, they couldn't find him.

Earlier this week a group called United Paws found Buddy at a homeless shelter. Now the Moores just need to get buddy home.

"What are the odds of people actually finding him… it's a great story - homeless kitty found at homeless shelter trying to get home for Christmas," John Moore said.

United Paws set up a aiming to get buddy home by Christmas.

They're hoping to raise $3,000 for airfare and travel expenses.

Anything they raise beyond that amount will help out other homeless pets in Tillamook County.
