Several Moab campgrounds were reopened late Thursday afternoon in response to receding runoff from the Colorado River.

Officers of the Bureau of Land Management's Moab Field Office said that the the following eight campgrounds, which were previously closed due to flooding of the Colorado River, were reopened for public use as of Friday:

  • King's Botton Campground
  • Gold Bar Campground
  • Goose Island Campground
  • Hal Canyon Campground
  • Lower Drinks Canyon Campground
  • Grandstaff Campground
  • Oak Grove Campground
  • Hittle Bottom Campground

Officials said that William's Bottom Campground along State Route 279 will be reopened Friday after the completion of an invasive plants treatment.

Jaycee Park Campground will remain closed until further notice due to concerning levels of standing water.
