March 17, 2018 -- (KUTV) - The Spring football season is underway in the state of Utah, where having an indoor practice facility is a more than welcomed commodity! The Utes lost some quality players to graduation in the off-season, but a unit they are just as excited about this off-season as they were the past one is the defensive secondary unit. Julian Blackmon broke through as a Sophomore last season starting in all 13 games for Kyle Whittingham. He’s a Layton high school product who could have played college basketball, signed on at Utah as an “athlete,” was thought to have a future on the receiving corps, but has emerged as one of the young and talented defensive backs in the Pac-12. Watch Adam Mikulich go 1 on 1 with his former “Prep of the Week” right here.
