Weber State Football To Quarterfinals With Win Over SUU


CEDAR CITY - Weber State dominated the second half and defeated Southern Utah 30-13 Saturday night to advance in the FCS Playoffs.

The win moves the Wildcats to the FCS Quarterfinals where they will play at No. 1 James Madison Friday night at 5 p.m. MT on ESPN2.

Weber State now has 11 wins on the season, the most in school history, and has won seven-straight games.

SUU intercepted a Wildcat pass late in the first half that setup a 24-yard field goal that tied the game 13-13 at halftime.

It was all Weber State in the second half as the Wildcat defense, held SUU to 38 yards of total offense in the second half. The Wildcats started the half driving down the field in three minutes, capped by a five-yard touchdown run by Cantwell to regain the lead at 20-13.

Weber State had 447 yards of offense.
